DOMESTIC MONEY TRANSFERS
The service Domestic Postal Money Transfers allows natural persons and legal entities to send amounts to recipients (natural persons and legal entities) in cash or to a bank account.
Domestic postal money transfers are accepted and paid out at all post offices.
Domestic postal money transfers are made online and can be paid out at any post office regardless of the way they are addressed.
The maximum amount of domestic postal money transfers is 6000 BGN/3067,75 EUR.
Senders of postal money transfers can use additional services:
- Advice of delivery (payment) – upon payment of an additional fee the sender receives a written advice of delivery signed by the recipient.
- Poste restante/On demand – the sender only specifies the post office, the postal code and the full name of the recipient. The transfer is paid out upon the recipient’s request.
- Message to the Recipient – the sender sends a message to the recipient along with the money transfer upon payment of an additional fee.
- Free-of-charge service “SMS-notification“ for recipients and senders of express money transfer.

Domestic postal money transfers can be sent also to a bank account of a natural person or a legal entity.
The service Postal Money Transfer to a Bank Account can be used for payment of local taxes and fees, social security contributions to the budget to the Territorial Directorates of the National Revenue Agency (NRA), bank and leasing installments, fees for IDs, fines to Traffic Police, fees for extracts from the register of previous convictions, fees to the structures of the Prosecutor’s Office as well as revenues administered by the NRA for the Republican budget by type of payment 111111 and others.

Payment method:
- Recipients of money transfers, other than Poste Restante transfers, are notified by a written invitation at the address about a standard or an express postal transfer sent to them.
- Domestic standard and express money transfers are paid out to the recipients or to persons authorized by them upon presentation of an ID.
- Recipients of standard and express money transfers, with the exception of “Poste restante/On demand”, are notified by an invitation at the address, and the recipients of express money transfers - by SMS, if requested by the sender, of a money transfer received in their name at the post office.
Place of receipt:
- At a post office counter.
- The amounts of non-cash transfers are transferred to the recipient’s bank account specified by the sender (titular).
Payment period:
- The recipient of a standard or an express money transfer is entitled to receive the transfer within 20 days from the date of the transfer.
- Upon expiration of this period, the transfer is returned to the sender; the term for payment to the sender is 10 days from the date of return. The sender can be notified by SMS of a paid or unpaid express money transfer to the recipient, if they have requested the service.
- Upon expiration of the period an unpaid transfer can be paid out to the sender or the recipient within up to five years following the year of issuance of the transfer, upon submission of an application form for renewal and paymeny the respective fee.
Upon submission of an application form and payment of a fee the sender and the recipient can request an inquiry, a copy of the accepted and paid transfers, etc.
